2022 Scholarship in Gender, Sexuality and Climate Change in the Global South at Leeds University – UK

The School of Geography at the University of Leeds is currently seeking a PhD candidate to undertake a PhD linked to the UKRI-funded GENERATE project ‘Gender, Generation and Climate Change (GENERATE): Creative Approaches to Building Inclusive and Climate Resilient Cities in Uganda and Indonesia’, led by Dr. Katie McQuaid. GENERATE explores the gender-age-urban interface of climate change.

  • You must have at least a first class or an upper second class British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline.
  • You must advised to check with the relevant School prior to making an application.
  • You will have a Masters degree in Anthropology, Social Geography, Gender and/or Development Studies.

Please state clearly in the research information section that the research degree you wish to be considered for is a PhD in Geography mentioning the ‘PhD in Gender, Sexuality and Climate Change in the Global South’ in the application form as well as Dr. Katie McQuaid as your proposed supervisor.

Please submit a short research proposal (500 words maximum) which outlines your idea for a doctoral research project, including: title, fieldwork location and rationale, key research question, aims and objectives, methodology, and originality and significance of the topic.
